We are looking for an experienced Lead Discipline Umbilical Engineer for one of our clients in Paris, to support the engineering and execution of subsea umbilical systems for offshore Oil & Gas projects. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from early concept studies and supplier qualification through detailed engineering, manufacturing, testing, and offshore installation support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering activities related to subsea umbilical systems (Steel Tube Umbilicals, Thermoplastic Umbilicals, EFL/HFL, power cables, subsea control and command systems).
• Perform market and feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and support tendering and cost estimation activities.
• Review supplier documentation and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Monitor manufacturing, qualification testing, and factory acceptance testing (FAT).
• Provide engineering support for pre-commissioning, offshore installation methods, and integration testing.
• Coordinate technical interfaces between Topside, SPS (Subsea Production Systems), and other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure technical quality, schedule, and compliance throughout project execution.

• Minimum 10 years' experience in subsea umbilical engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Steel Tube Umbilicals (STU)
  • Thermoplastic Umbilicals (TPU)
  • Electrical Flying Leads (EFL) & Hydraulic Flying Leads (HFL)
  • Power cables
  • Subsea Control & Command systems
• Experience with SURF projects is essential.
• Knowledge of Flexcom (or equivalent) analysis software is an advantage.
• Experience with flexible pipes is considered a plus.
• Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• BOSIET certification (preferred)
• Offshore project experience is advantageous.

This role is ideal for a senior subsea engineering professional with extensive experience in SURF and SPS projects, capable of leading the technical delivery of umbilical packages from concept through offshore execution.
