We are looking for a proactive and experienced Process Safety professional capable of operating in complex multidisciplinary engineering environments.You demonstrate strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to influence engineering decisions through sound safety judgments and risk-based approaches.EducationMaster's Degree or Engineering Degree (BSc/MSc) in:Chemical EngineeringProcess EngineeringIndustrial SafetyHSE EngineeringEquivalent disciplineExperienceMinimum 8 years of experience in Process Safety Engineering.Proven experience within:Chemical plantsPetrochemical facilitiesIndustrial gas projectsFertilizer production unitsEnergy or large industrial projectsExperience in FEED or EPC project environments is highly desirable.LanguagesFluent English (mandatory).French is considered an advantage.SoftwareMicrosoft Office Suite.Engineering document management systems.3D model review platforms.Experience with Fire & Gas engineering and safety tools is a plus.StandardsStrong knowledge of:IEC 61511NFPA StandardsAPI StandardsHazardous Area Classification standardsProcess Safety Management methodologiesInternational industrial safety regulations and best practices

As part of a major industrial decarbonization project, Abylsen is looking for a Senior Process Safety Engineer to support the FEED phase.You will join a dedicated HSE Design team and work within a multidisciplinary engineering environment involving Process, Piping, Civil, Instrumentation, and Operations teams. Your mission will be to ensure that safety requirements are fully integrated into the design of the plant and that major industrial risks are adequately identified, assessed, and mitigated.Acting as a subject matter expert in Process Safety, you will contribute directly to the safe design of one of the largest industrial decarbonization projects currently under development.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and assess Major Accident Hazards and propose effective prevention, control, mitigation, and protection measures.Deliver high-quality process safety engineering studies while meeting project requirements, milestones, and quality standards.Participate in hazard identification and risk assessment workshops, including:HAZIDHAZOPSIL ReviewsLOPA StudiesReview plot plans and 3D models to ensure compliance with process safety principles and operational safety requirements.Perform Hazardous Area Classification studies.Identify Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and support criticality assessments.Define and optimize Fire & Gas Detection philosophies and layouts.Contribute to:Passive Fire Protection (PFP) studiesActive Fire Protection (AFP) designFirewater network design reviewsDeluge system assessmentsHydraulic balance calculationsDevelop specifications and requisitions for firefighting and personnel protection equipment.Support technical bid evaluations and vendor follow-up activities.Interface efficiently with engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to resolve safety-related issues.Prepare responses to client comments and develop engineering queries when design clarifications are required.Identify design inconsistencies and proactively propose technical improvements.Contribute to CAPEX optimization initiatives without compromising safety performance.Provide technical justification for design decisions and support project reviews.
